While largely supported by the university and student government (through student fees), the MSU Bands also rely heavily on donations from alumni, businesses and the community.

Donations to the band cover various expenses, but the majority of donations provide the the hard-working band students with events, activities and supplies that truly make their college band experience the best any college can offer.

Full-band and smaller group events and meetings often require funding for which we are unable to use our standard budget. The band’s End-of-Round Up (Preseason Camp) dinner and the season-ending celebration/awards banquet are two full-band events funded exclusively through donations. These types of events recognizing the dedication and efforts of the band members, help us retain quality students (hopefully) for all four of their college years.
